ESOL Bangladeshi project

O-Regen’s ESOL for Bangladeshi Community project in Waltham Forest and Newham has maintained high achievement and results. Nearly all the completers have gained ESOL along with Literacy qualifications over the past several months, with some Job and further progression outcomes.

2 students were particularly impressed with the programme, which provided them with ESOL and Literacy training, including ICT Support, Information, Advice & Guidance and Employment support. In particular, they mentioned:

“When we started the course, we could not communicate in English. We have improved our English and gained qualifications in ESOL and Literacy. Our tutor was very helpful in helping us with our reading, writing and speaking. She was very patient and helpful and always worked hard to sort out our issues concerning our learning journey. Our employment advisor was also good at advising us how to prepare ourselves for job interviews and he continued to guide us to reach our target of going for the childminder’s training course. After the course, we would like to train to be child minders and this training will help us achieve this goal.”

“The room where we had the training was nice and airy and we were happy to have air conditioning when it got hot in the summer. We were also happy to be allowed to access the internet free of charge and to use the computers to write our CVs and search for jobs.”
