Job Fair 21st July 2007

Heart of Leyton and Team Leyton delivered a joint job fair at SCORE, which attracted around 30 people mainly from the local area in search of work, the number were extremely low due to the inclement weather. The last job Fair saw a swell of people attend to went onto access training, part time job, full time employment and some even chose to go back to full time education. The Exhibitors were the local Police, Team Leyton, Economic Development – O-Regen, Job Centre Plus, NELEEAC, Groundwork, Mencap, Intergria Whipps Cross and The Diversity Team from Probation Services etc.         

Activity mix Corporate Netball Tournament & Diamonds Netball Club

Activity mix piloted a corporate Netball Tournament at Score with a local netball club - Diamonds, who were funded by

O-Regen and supported by LOCSP staff Neil Brown where the club train once a week. The local players played in their own junior tournament and 10 of the club’s players were nominated as Ambassadors for the Activity mix challenge. A number of parents and family and friends attended the day’s event. BP were the overall winners of the tournament for 2007

Youth Games Sponsorship & Presentation Evening – 6th July 2007

O-Regen has agreed through the Heart of Leyton to sponsor the event for 3 years. Waltham Forest has been identified as one of the 5 Olympic borough’s .it is an idle opportunity for our organisation to engage and facilitate our young people in ultimately achieving an opportunity to be possible participants, volunteers and ambassadors of the Olympic Games. In previous years Waltham Forest has produced Olympians: Peter Waterfield – Diving, Mike McFarlane - 100m sprinter, Dalton Grant – High Jumper

 The events that made up the youth games:-

 The Mini Games which comprises of children aged 8yrs plus took place at Crystal Palace on Thursday 28th June 2007. Waltham Forest took nearly 150 - 180 representatives from local schools and clubs to participate in one of London’s biggest sporting activities for young people.
